ARRIVAL BY AIR
Florence does have its own airport. The "Amerigo Vespucci" Airport is located four kilometers from the center of Florence. It is to the north-west of Florence, between the "Firenze Nord" exit of the superhighway and Florence's industrial area near Prato.

Pisa Airport (Galileo Galilei)
Pisa International Aiport offers more choice of airlines than from Florence Airport which is very small. Pisa is very well connected to Florence city center by train and coach both of which leave directly from the airport.

On arrival you can choose to take a bus or the train. Both have direct links from Pisa Airport and only take about 1h30mins. Trains leave from the airport and arrive directly at the main station in Florence, Santa Maria Novella. You can purchase your ticket from the airport kiosk. You can also check train times to and from Pisa online at www.trenitalia.com

The bus company 'Terravision' offers an excellent bus link to and from Pisa airport and Florence Santa Maria Novella main station. Buses run hourly and tickets can be bought from the airport or alternatively online at www.terravision.it

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN / BUS
Florence's central station is called Santa Maria Novella. It is located in the northwest corner of central Florence.

DIRECTIONS TO GIA
GIA is located in Piazza Santa Trinita, 1. The building is called Palazzo Bartolini Salimbeni and is located in front of the tall column in the center of the piazza, and right accross from the Tiffany & Co. store on Via Tornabuoni. GIA is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

ARRIVAL BY CAR
From the highway follow directions to the center (Centro) and the station (Stazione SMN) where you will find a parking lot. GIA is situated just 10 minutes walk from the main station. Alternatively from the highway take the "Firenze Sud" exit and follow the road until the end. Take the first left following directions for the center (Centro) and continue on alongside the river (Lungarno) until you reach "Viale G. Amendola" where you will find the parking lot in "Piazza C. Beccaria". GIA Florence is approx. 20 minutes walk from the parking lot.
