GIA education through GIA Florence uses the same syllabus in the USA and is administered to exactly the same high standards with experienced GIA instructors.  As a GIA Florence student you will have your own personal GIA student number and all GIA diplomas and certificates are only issued from our headoffice at GIA in Carlsbad, California. Classes for the diploma programs are held here at the school every day Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm. Diamonds are the heart of the jewelry industry. They account for over half of all jewelry sales. Success in diamonds means success in the jewelry industry.  But there are pitfalls. Misjudge a clarity grade, mistake a synthetic stone for a natural, or misread a diamond grading report, and you’re out of the game before you ever got in.When you speak the international language of diamonds, a new world opens. 

GIA CLASSROOM EQUIPMENT

The classrooms are equipped with; DiamondDock™, DiamondLite, Leveridge gauge, electronic bench scales, masterstone set, UV lamp, color grading tray

Each student workstation is equipped with; Microscope, LED light, daylight flip light

Each student keeps; Tweezers, loupe 10x, pointer probe, gem cloth, table gauge, crown angle card, color grading card, plotting pens, all books and lab manual

Studying in Italy 
Here in Florence there is a large student community and lots of trips with student groups that are well organized and fun. All of our students love travelling around Italy and all over Europe.  We suggest that you check out the English newspaper 'The Florentine' for ‘what’s on’ here in the city, including theatres, open air cinema's and English original language films, bars, coffee shops and swimming pools…it’s just an small introduction to Bella Italia!
